Since we have slowly moved from one house to another to the last one TV with furniture and I have started bringing stuff down from up north house. We have two bedroom sets in TV, a living room set, dinette set not a fan of, dining room table I can live with.
I have started bringing down dishes and glasses in my carry-on because they're important to me. I love my dining room set up north although it's a light oak. Did anyone find it was worth your while to bring some of your furniture cost wise. I am only looking at a bedroom, dining and love seat. I've been to all of the furniture stores from TV to Orlando to Ocala. Not a fan.
I am emptying out one room at a time throwing away giving away and selling. So far I'm finding this OK but I'm also coming from an 1800 square-foot basement four bedrooms and I'm starting to get a little anxiety attacks when I walk around and go crap now what. Anyone else having this issue I have a few years to get everything down before I sell the up north house but this is just hard.
In the same boat as you! We have some pieces that we love and did move into our Villages home. We felt it was worth the cost (Pods). We brought a dining hutch, bed, double leather sofa recliner and some paintings. I was concerned with having too much furniture in our Villages home but I think we've struck the right balance. Our other bedroom furniture wasn't worth the price for bringing down.
It's hard to let go of things but it's also freeing. Our process is at the same pace as yours. Eventually we will have an estate sale with whatever is left.
My husband has quite a collection of Hummel figurines...if anyone is interested let me know PLEASE!
Good luck! Little by little you'll get the job done. Time is on our side with this task!
