I hated the outcome, I felt very sorry for the fans in KC. I usually pull for the underdog, and even though the game was played in KC, I felt like they were the underdog due to Peyton's almost perfect record against the Chiefs. It seemed to be the Chiefs chance to shine, Peyton had a bad performance at home last week against the Ravens and the Chiefs were the home team this week and had gone into Houston last week and beat what was suppose to a much improved Texans team that was featured on Hard Knocks.
The Chiefs defense held Peyton in check for most of the game and then decided not to keep putting the pressure on Peyton on that final drive, and as well all know, prevent defense does one thing, it prevents you from winning. Andy Reid not having Alex Smith take a knee and run out the last 20 seconds of regulation was idiotic, it reminded me of the old Eagles Herm Edwards/NY Giants play from the late 70's.
I guess the Broncos odds of winning the AFC West just went up, but come January Peyton is not a cold weather quarterback. He should of signed with Arizona when he was making his free agent tour of teams. They have the dome, they have the defense and they have the receivers. I don't think winning the big one is in his sights in Denver.
