The Pope seems like a decent enough man, but since I am not a Catholic I do not subscribe to kissing his ring. I won't even kiss Billy Graham's ring and I have a lot more respect for him as being instrumental in the salvation of thousands. I don't wish to take away from anyone's ideal of the Pope, but he is a man and every man has an opinion. Just because he has a position, does not make him any more right than Obama. Bad analogy, considering Obama is never right. Take his blessings if you are Catholic and just disregard his politics. He is after all from a socialist country, so that would have a certain amount of influence on his politics.

I do find it interesting that liberals would defend a holy man when most of them seem to be non-believing atheists. Just my opinion. Good for you guys! Maybe you can learn something from the Pope as you defend him.
