Roast the Vegetables and Chicken Legs
I think someone on TOTV told me to do this. If so, thank-you.
I bought a dozen chicken legs and roasted it in the oven with carrots, celery and onions.
I scraped the chicken off the bones and put it on the side. I added the bones, skin, grizzle and pan scrapings [after degreasing] to the crock pot with the sliced up the veggies.
Wow 2 hours later and the veggies are still crunchy. So I pulled them and put the crock on low to finish the stock in another 2 hours. I'll strain everything through a paper towel.
The only thing I will change is I put too much paprika on the chicken. Next time I'll double the veggies, make veggie broth in a different crock pot and roast potatoes for chicken pot pies.
That makes a lot of food for very little money and effort.
