With Obama far surpassing Jimmy Carter as the worst President in my lifetime, IMHO, I think he has done less to nullify Boehner than the Tea Party. Nothing happens anywhere without negotiation, and I think the GOP ultra right wing (Tea Party), is trying to offset the super liberals on the other side of the aisle with opposite extremism. As long as we have these polar opposites, nothing will get done. People for get that Reagan and Tip had their knock down drag outs, but at the end of the day, they compromised and it worked. Elect "conservative" moderates!
