FOUR YEARS.....FOUR YEARS

That is how long the USA has ignored the situation in Syria. During those 4 years, we huffed and puffed a few times, drew lines in the sand, but never did anything.

The dead as a result is so huge it cannot be calculated. DEATH AND DESTRUCTION caused by gassings, caused by bunker buster bombs.

We asked them to stop using all these things, and they said they would but they went back to it and are still using these weapons.

FOUR YEARS...FOUR YEARS

We said that Assad must go, but did nothing. And before those with the same response ask if I mean troops on the ground...not specifically because FOUR YEARS AGO, if we had armed the rebels Assad may be gone by now.

WHY did the President turn his back on ALL his advisors on this....WHY....

David Petraeus came up with a plan, I believe in 2012 to "that would have vetted, trained and armed selected opposition groups, which have been pleading for such U.S. support for more than a year. "

This plan was supported by everyone....Secy of State Clinton, Joint Chief of Staff and 100% of the advisors and our President rejected it.

The situation he ignored is the worst refugee situation since WW2.....the DEAD can literally not be counted the number is so huge. Many are simply thrown into huge pits when discovered.

Children gassed in the streets and hauled to a huge pit......shot down as they tried to escape.

They still are using the gas...Assad is still in charge and now he has Russia bombing on his behalf.

I can understand not wanting to put troops on the ground, but ignoring such terrible atrocities no matter where they might be is just not right.

Why did he do it...ignore and take NO action at all....

In 2013 NY Times wrote this article entitled..."Why did Mr. Obama overrule his advisors on Syria".....

from that article....

"So why was the Petraeus plan rejected? According to the Times, Mr. Petraeus and Ms. Clinton were rebuffed when they presented the plan to the White House. At the time, Mr. Obama was in the midst of an reelection campaign in which he frequently assured voters that “the tide of war is receding.” Hopes of reviving the plan after the election were thwarted when Mr. Petraeus resigned and Ms. Clinton was sidelined by illness.

Mr. Obama’s reasons for quashing the Syria plan were surely not purely political. But the president’s only public explanation for his resistance, in a recent interview with the New Republic, amounted to excuse-making. He wondered why he should concern himself with Syria and not the civil war in the Congo, as if the United States cannot intervene in any war unless it does in all; he asked whether providing weapons to rebels would “trigger even worse violence,” ignoring the testimony of his own aides that, under his present policy, the carnage “every day . . . it gets worse,” as new Secretary of State John F. Kerry put it.

This was written in 2013 mind you......

How can we be lectured about right and wrong...about justice and injustice and ignore what has happened in Syria, not today......FOR FOUR YEARS
