I lost BOTH of my Siamese cats from our lanai within nine months - and both, I believe, to coyotes. Timmer was very shy and never wanted to even go on the patio unless he was with me. Just one week earlier, I took Timmer to the vet for his annual shots and teeth cleaning, and the vet tech clipped his claws very short. He could never have torn a big hole in our lanai screen, nor would he - he had been sitting out every day and night for the entire six years we have been here. We live on Bramble Terrace in the Village of Bonita, on the Kenya golf course, and our neighbors had met both cats many times. I would never have let Timmer go out on the lanai had I not believed he was safe with the screen door tightly latched and all screens completely intact.
