i was out driving in santo domingo at a time between recycling and regular garbage trucks sweep of the neighborhood and noticed an abundance of white (not clear) garbage bags as well as other regular plastic shopping bags with recycling items in them.
the recycling trucks had of course not picked them up but since the garbage truck undoutably will. it raises the question of how many households think they're recycling when in fact they're not. because the garbage truck will have picked everything up before the residents return home from their day's activities.
we all hate buying the special clear bags but it wasapparent to me that those are the only bags the recycling trucks are picking up.
