I can only speak about my experience dealing with Comcast here in the Chicago area, but it sounds similar to what Comcast customers deal with in The Villages. One of my former coworkers whose wife used to work for Comcast said that customers need to call Comcast about every 6 months to one year to see what "deals" Comcast is offering to reduce your cable/internet bill.
As my budget will be leaner in the coming months due an employment transition, I called Comcast two nights ago to ask what deals are available. I got $12 a month knocked off my bill for the next 12 months as Comcast had a deal going on the HD cable box I use. As of May this year, I was paying $180 for cable/internet/phone. In June I contacted Comcast and got the bill down to $158 per month for the same service. After this Monday's call with Comcast the bill will be $146 per month for 12 months for the same service. It's a pain in the butt to have to contact Comcast every few months or so, but I will if I can save $34 per month.
