Dear Guest: Past from generation after generation in my family and to my parents were that children should always be treated as a protected species . So do you believe since the late 1960's parents have done a good job in protecting their kids from the influences of Hollywood, crooked politicians and drug dealers? Today's movies and TV sitcoms were yesterdays pornography and people hardly notice the difference.

What I encouraged my children to believe was to have good moral judgment, to be kind to people, to do their fair share, to be productive, to be good citizens, etc.

So when our political leaders, Hollywood celebrities ,sports heroes et al behave unethically, arrogantly greedy, etc my children would know the difference and speak up.

We have far too many good kids with no moral compass. Confused kids that are taught to dislike America. Kids who view the dregs of society as kool such as Kanye West. Even in my kids day nice people moved away quickly from characters like him.

You referred to my beliefs as "passionate" I wish that were the case. Quite honestly I'm concerned.. even going beyond concerned for today's kids and the future of this nation. We need to worry more about imploding than any outside enemy.

America is becoming a god-less nation and more are involved in hedonistic practices which means they believe only in material things, that the only purpose to life is pleasure and that their gods are rock stars, etc Name just one entertainment or sports celebrity you believe deserves kids idolization? Unless and until we return to believing in the exceptionalism of America and something greater than ourselves we will continue this rapid descent into mediocrity. Passionate, no scared very afraid. May God see fit to once again bless America
