A: No. The correction of pre-existing astigmatism not surgically induced is considered refractive surgery. Medicare deems refractive surgery solely to reduce the patient's dependence on eyeglasses or contact lenses to be cosmetic and, therefore, excluded from coverage. Thank you for the information. Looks like it will cost me a lot out of pocket, but it will be worth it to see well. I just worry about the Toric lense, as I know a few people had trouble with it.
