I don't know why but year after year I dressed up as a bum. Halloween was not changed into harvest festival anywhere I lived.

ooops the ADD kicked in and I side-tracked.
When my kids were little our town had a parade that anyone could enter. People made floats. My younger son was born on Halloween and we entered 3 years in a row. I turned my old toyota pick-up truck into a Bat-mobile, Fire Engine and Monster Mash Truck. I would paint it with tempera paint. My teacher friends and neighbors would also get dressed up and join us walking along the side of the truck. All the kids were in the truck and throwing candy to all the kids that came to watch.
