I did not get banned from a library. That does happen once in a while but it usually takes some criminal actions of some kind or another on the part of the person being banned like stalking people, putting cameras in bathrooms, attempting to steal books, etc.
I was threatened with a lawsuit if I did not stop pointing out that the Palm Harbor Library Director Gene Coppola was lying about a link to the Florida Victim Services Directory. I did not want to put my parents through the stress of my fighting this through my own lawsuit so I dropped it.
Last month I was invited along with my mother to the retirement party for the Head of Volunteers at Palm Harbor Library, Jeanette Malouf. A very nice, honest, hard working woman who created the Palm Harbor Library from her book collection in her garage. I did not go because of the bad feelings I still have about Gene Coppola and that 3-02-2004 certified letter.
I am obsessed with victims' rights and services which is why I was trying to get a link to the Florida Victim Services Directory into as many public and law libraries in the State of Florida as well as attempting to get links to similar resources in other states from their libraries. This is my 224 613 Project which I have been working on --9 years of this work in Palm Harbor (1996-2005)-- since January 1991 even though I did not start using these numbers until mid-1993.
I have had a lot of problems with some librarians since January 1991 but only Gene Coppola was stupid enough to threaten to sue me based on something as checked easily as a working link to the Florida Victim Services Directory.

I have mentioned this advocacy on my part of getting practical materials for survivors/victims of crimes here on Talk of the Villages on-and-off since 2008 or maybe even 2007.
I am trying to get more caring people involved with helping survivors/victims of crimes by checking out what your former community library has to offer in the way of practical materials for survivors/victims of crimes.
There are control freaks like Gene Coppola out there though who if they do not get their way threaten lawsuits and volunteer blackballs if someone crosses them in some way.
With the violence in our society now, having these kind of resources for survivors/victims of crimes as accessible as possible is critical to the recovery of those survivors/victims of crimes. Men and women like Gene Coppola are obstacles to this access if they are not honest about the kinds of problems that survivors/victims have had in the past.
Gene Coppola is now the Florida Library Association President. I do think this is an important topic especially if he or his cronies push me off the of the Florida Library Association Facebook Group for making honest statements critical of Gene Coppola and his cronies. That's why we have a First Amendment to voice our disagreements with bullies like Gene Coppola.
Maybe we also need more links in libraries to the National Alliance on Mental Health as well. One of the tricks I have seen repeatedly since 1991 are attacks on the person making valid criticisms based on that person's mental health rather than actual attempts to fix the real problems. Even Donald Trump saw how despicable that tactic is.
