Try a name brand dishwashing liquid not the powder and not the store brand for troubleshooting purposes. Run the dishwasher into the cleaning cycle then open the door and find out if the water that is going all over your dishes is hot as hell...don't get burned. If it is hot run a half gallon of white vinegar thru the rest of this cycle then start a new cycle with the other half gallon of white vinegar. Your house will smell like a humongous salad but this has worked for me in the past. Good Luck.
