hey OP---thanks for starting this thread
We were having this problem even after getting a new, non-GE dishwasher. Repairman told me that I should use one of the new dishwasher detergents plus rinse agent. So now I use Finish tablets with rinse agent. I can't remember the rest of the name but it is the higher priced stuff and has additional name attached to it that the other types of Finish don't have. He also said to stop cleaning, just knock off the big stuff, the dishes before I put them in the dishwasher since the dishwasher has a sensor that senses the particulates in the water. No particulates means a short wash and rinse. I also run the water until it's hot before starting the dishwasher
