All current (last 7 years) dishwashers are supposed to be hooked up to the COLD water supply in your home. The dishwasher heats the water to the correct temperature to clean & disinfect your stuff. Drives me nuts that my wife basically washes the dishes before washing them in the dishwasher. I put them from the table into the dishwasher with the same result....beautiful. Good Luck.
