Drivers need to remember that the rule is 3 feet from bikes. If you can't pass at a safe distance, then stay behind until you can. Most bike riders are considerate and will move over for you as soon as they can safely do so. Most drivers do try to give bikes sufficent room but a little bit of patience would help.

Have ridden across Canada many moons ago when drivers were our best allies, especially running interference for us against bears in the road. Just be patient drivers if overtaking a slower means of transportation. Give them the benefit of doubt. What's your hurry???
