To receive the Homestead exemption for this year you had to file by Februrary 29th. ONe thing I did not know is that one spouse can declare residency in florida and you would be eligible for 1/2 the homestead exemption. This would happen if you are waiting to sell you house up north and one spouse is still working up north. The tax lady at the corner of Morse Blvd and 466 was very helpful and informative.
