Well said, soup.

I saw the letter but not the facts. I have questions such as when was the contract written with Nestle? How long is the contract? Have there been renewals? What water is Nestle buying? With whom, exactly, is the contract -- the State of Florida, a private entity, a local entity? Until we know at least these minimal answers, it is pretty hard to rail about the water being sold.

California used to sell energy to neighboring states. As California grew, it desparately needed that energy and is frequently forced to buy it from Colorado. While it was buying, it was still selling. Not because it wanted to but because to break the contracts would have been cost prohibitive. The contracts were not renewed.
