I think we stopped being a "home town" and graduated to a large city sometime ago.
But "home town" sounds so friendly and folksy.

Perhaps TV Management made the change because it wants to emphasize that even though TV is now a big city,
it's still basically a retirement community (and still friendly).
Although some would argue both those points.
