jgm: First welcome to The villages. Secondly I am one of those golf cart drivers that applies the rules of the road and I am most respectful of bike riders and walkers on the muti-modal paths and on he roads as I slow down and sometimes stop if I see an approaching cart because I know most will just drive (other driver) around walker (you) when the rules say an obstruction in your path means the other vehicle (me in this case) has the right of way.

Thirdly, and I will get a boo from a segment of this forum, I directly place blame on this situation in the lap of the planners, designers and Developer who chose savings over safety. It would not have taken much space to separate walkers from driving machines but square footage is to be capitalized for more profit and the Villages of Lake Sumter, Inc will use every last inch of it and more if they can get their hands on it to capitalize for even more profit. its the American way and why many residents who have lived here for sometime feel like sardines
