You can get a "taste" of Disney at the newly refurbished Disney Springs (used to be Downtown Disney). Free parking and no admissions. I've heard the Rainforest is a great place to eat. Lot's to see, and I think they still have a free boat ride on the lake. It'll be Disney prices, but nowhere near what you would spend going into the parks.

Spring's is a ways away from being completed. You can rent a boat by the hour. There is a boat that takes you to the swan hotel. Springs is restaurant's and shopping. Nothing like going to the park.
