For every positive there is a negative. Growing up in Florida I didn't know what an air conditioned school was. I graduated from St. Petersburg High in '68, it's still open and going strong, oldest high school in Florida. However, it's 2 stories and in some areas 3 stories high. Most hallways are open to one of the two courtyards, and classroom windows were always open so we did get some cross ventilation. However, if it's 93 degrees outside, it's 93 degrees inside. The only weather I ever remember getting off for was during hurricanes, heat just goes with the territory.
If you're ever visiting the famous tourist stop Mazarro's Italian Market, you're only 12 blocks north of St. Pete High. Go south on 28th Street until you reach 5th Ave North. Turn left and go one block and look to your left.
