You cannot just stop a group of people in separate golf carts on a mission to see Christmas lights. And it did not start raining until we were around Hadley which is miles from Lynnhaven/Belvedere/Ashland.
There was very light rain when we got to the Mallory Hill Country Club around 4:30 PM. We left around 6:15 PM and the rain started heavy around 7:15 PM. Dunkirk Trail in Hadley is a good distance from Mallory Hill Country Club.
I cannot see the common sense in just saying that if the roads are not safe in Central Florida just stay off them. Should you not make the roads safe to drive in any kind of weather? Like painting the edge of the road so you can see where it is? This is a problem in good weather as well. It is a lot worse in heavy rain.
How about the 6 AM golf cart drives in the light rain when you also have to watch out for joggers who are dressed in black? Not a good idea for joggers to dress in anything but white before dawn but they do.
