Re: Random Moving Around of Forum Posts Not Logical Without Further Guidance
Jan, an easy solution to not working this board 24/7 is to get moderators for each forum (a truly busy forum might have 3 or 4 moderators so the work is spread around). They "police" the forums -- pming people when they cross a line, moving posts as appropriate, making sure newbies are greeted, locking a thread if a subject has been beaten to death, etc. If they have a question, they talk to each other through a private forum for moderators only. Saves a lot of grief and passes around some of the work.
Administrators have the final say-so on anything that happens, post as they feel appropriate but basically let the moderators handle the day-to-day operations. Saves a lot of grief. I have a parenting board with over 5,000 members, 13,000 threads and 144,000 posts. Barring when I do a post or a server crashes, I spend about 15-30 minutes a day on the board. The moderators do the rest. Makes life a lot easier. My bridge group takes a lot more work because it is a Yahoo Group and the people are so dang touchy that more than one cook definitely spoils their broth.
Just a suggestion.
