If you want a registration plate, then make it street legal and pay for insurance and registration. The cost of registering all the carts in the villages has to come from somewhere. The idea is that they are NOT street legal and were made to use on the golf course. We use them for primary transportation here, but they weren't originally meant for that practice. I can imagine how many auto accidents there would be in the villages if everyone drove cars instead of carts. And that is exactly what I would be doing, driving a car, if I was told I had to insure, register and pay taxes on a golf cart.
