Re: Banks
BofA is strange in Florida -- it doesn't have all the services you get in other states. I found this out when I was here on vacation prior to moving here. I deposited $500 in cash to my California branch from a Florida Bank of America. I was told there would be a 5-day hold on these funds while Florida BofA communicated with my local branch. It took a few phone calls and a total hissy fit to get this resolved and it still was a 3-day hold on my cash deposit.
I have opened a Florida account with the local BofA. The online banking does not give me bill pay -- to get that, I need a different type of account for which I'm not eligible because I don't have direct deposit. So, I do online transfers to my California BofA account to do my bill pays -- doable but inconvenient. For some odd reason, I plan to close the Florida account and open an account with one of the local banks.
