It's disturbing to me that in order to do good, one needs compensation.
Good for your wife. I donated a few times back in the 1980s and do not remember receiving anything. Many of the blood banks now around the country offer some kind of rewards for donating. I do not know about the Red Cross but many of the other companies I having looked up on the Internet do give various kinds of awards.
