It's ok that the idea of an insurance company run requirement for health care came from the right. The left as you are certainly aware wanted a national health insurance similar to that in Canada and almost every other western democracy. But the Democrats, afraid of another Harry and Louise, made a pact with the insurance companies not to consider that approach.
