I am going to guess that you are using a laptop. Here is what I think is happening, one of your thumbs is hitting the touch pad occasionally, and this moves the cursor. The fix is to go into the CONTROL PANEL, select MOUSE, then select the TOUCH PAD, then select SETTINGS, and then select DISABLE TAPPING. be sure to do this in the default settings also. I had the problem every time rebooted the computer, because it would not remember the default setting and kept turning tapping back on. Just upgraded to Windows 10, and problem GONE!!
As for the Century Link, I am going to assume that you are using Internet Explorer, I have the same problem occasionally. My wife's computer was so bad, she changed to another browser, I think she is using Chrome.
