Default Re: National Library Week

I have known a lot of librarians I would like to hug. Palm Harbor Library and East Lake Community Library -- both in Palm Harbor-- had some of the nicest people I have met except for the upper management whose ethics leave a lot to be desired. I volunteered at these two Palm Harbor Libraries for 1400 hours from 2000 to 2003.

Did not much liked the Palm Harbor Library Director Gene Coppola's lying about there being a link to the FL Victim Services Directory from Palm Harbor Library so I quit volunteering in 2003. Palm Harbor Library did put a link for this FL Victim Services Directory http://www.palmharborlibrary.org/links/florida.htm finally around March 15, 2004 after I got a lawsuit and blacklist from volunteering threat dated March 2, 2004 from the Palm Harbor Library General Counsel for all the pestering I did about this link. I was rather persistent I will admit. East Lake CL got one around June 15, 2004 to something close to this Directory http://www.eastlakelibrary.org/ELCL/links.htm.

Some of the people at Minneapolis Public Library and Englewood Public Library (CO) where I also worked were very nice.

Law librarians are another species IMHO though as they are often lawyers who have given up on lawyering and become law librarians. Lack of access and governing seemed to me more important in law librarianship.
