You could just have easily avoided that problem by doing both things correctly...help the person(wonderful)and making sure your car wasn't blocking anyone.
It reminds me of people who stop to let a car out from a side street and while thinking they're doing the kind thing forget there are others behind her that equally deserve her attention by just obeying traffic laws and not holding them up so they can do their "good deed".
You could and should have done both things and not look for a reason to blame someone else. How do you know that they didn't have a DR's appt or a sick person back at their house???????

You didn't really mean that, did you?---it's a little unlike you. Besides, if they had called 911 (which might have been a good idea since I doubt any of them were experts in diagnosing head trauma), where do you think 2 fire engines, 1 ambulance, and 5 police cars would have been sitting? I don't think this lady would have told a sheriff's deputy to move. Then again......
