I don't agree with this. A lot of people living close together does not bring out the worst in us. I do a lot of work in the NYC area and I have observed the following. The poorer a neighborhood is, the friendlier the people are and the MORE willing they are to help out a person in need. The rich folk don't seem to care about anyone but themselves. It is not a density problem, it is a class income issue. The more people have in terms of stuff they less they have in terms of caring. This is not my opinion, it is what I've observed in the course of 40 years.
