I have a Ring Doorbell. It was a little disappointing. Motion can be slow to activate. For example, if someone quickly drops off a package or throws a phonebook you may not even see it. The motion is detected, camera turns on, and it takes a sec to focus. You may get a 30 sec video that doesn't show anything. The second disappointment is that you can't access the camera directly, all you have is the short clips that are uploaded.
I also have Dropcams, which is now Nest. They work very well, simple to install. You can access the camera directly anytime, but with the subscription you have 24/7 recording online. I forgot exact cost, maybe $100/yr, you get a discount on multiples. I have 7-10 days available online, motion or sound occurrences are clearly marked on a timeline and you can replay or make clips to retain before it falls off.
