I would check with the local chapter of DAV (Disabled American Veterans) and Paralyzed Veterans of America (you do't have to be paralyzed before they will help you.) and the Spinal cord clinic at Gainesville Clinic.
Jack Johnson is the local President of the DAV, and a VSO (Veterans Service Officer). He is at the VA on Wednesdays. There may also be a local chapter of the ALS society nearby. There may even be a local group of ALS supporters nearby. If you don't find anything in T, check with the VA in Gainesville. They are bound to have some. You could also check with google and see if they come up with any neurologists who specialize in ALS in this area. ALS is presumed to be 100% service connected. The VA at Gainesville may have a liaison who deal just with ALS patients. Blessings on you and yours. It is a challenging disease.
You may find a lot of support from the local DAV. You are eligible for membership. they meet the second Tuesday of the month at Saddlebrook Rec Center at 1pm. You would be very welcome. Feel free to PM me if you would like. Joan Sullivan
