Try call the Fire Company, non-emergency # (352) 569-1011. Have 9v batteries ready for ALL smoke detectors in the house in case they want to change them, which I would think they would want to do. You will also need a ladder for them to use. This is a free service they provide for homeowners. Also, just because you moved in a year ago and it was a new home, how long did it sit empty before you purchased it? I see smoke detectors start chirping every year. Best to replace batteries once a year.
