Actually, as a true American citizen that believes in fair play and equality, I would have no problem at all if a rich person pays at the same tax rate as myself. After all, they are paying 90% or more of the tax bill for us. Making him pay any higher than myself would be discrimination. If I pay at 15% and he pays at 15%, I guarantee that he is paying more into the system than I do. And he only gets one vote, just like me.
