What I wonder is if there is such a thing as--not even sure what to call it--cultural memory or maybe better expressed as "what goes around comes around"? For example, when you think of the animosities among the different groups from within the former "artificial" country Yugoslavia held in check by one leader (Marshal Tito), when he died all h*** broke loose with ill feelings from centuries earlier. Could this be, at least in part, behind today's current events?
