And even if the last thing on his mind was anything of a carnal nature where is the filter that says "Maybe I should not share this thought that just jumped into my head with the rest of the world since it might be taken the wrong way." If you can't figure that out how can you expect to understand diplomacy?

Of course I think he knew exactly what he was doing. He was going to get a lot of free press with that statement. The fact that his wife and children might be embarrassed never entered his mind. He can always get another wife or fire his children.
