I do not see these matters as being problems for Clinton or Sanders now as legal education seems to be quite different in the 2010s with the extensive interest in survivors/victims rights in the places of higher education. I mean Sanders' article from the 1970s and Clinton's days as a defender of an alleged rapist of a 12 year old.
I went to a Jesuit University, and the professors in my law classes said that it was a defense lawyer's responsibility to do everything (legal) in representng their client to achieve an innocent verdict. No matter what. They said that was a basic tenet in our legal system.
