The Pope is a foreigner, not American and should not even be considered in American politics. He is after all, from a socialist country and leans that way in his politics. His addressing congress was just their purpose of using him toward their political agenda, whether conservative or liberal.
He is a socialist
He is against gay deviancy
He is against abortion
He is against a border wall, yet has one surrounding the Vatican city.
So, anyway you look at him, he is a good man but NOT an American and should not be considered in any way an influence to the American Way of life.

Really? Which ones wept? The Pope does not have the franchise on a Bible verse that he USED in a speech.
I can only speak for myself. I am open minded and love this man for the direction he has chosen for the Catholic Faith. He is honest and sincere and cares for the least of us. I can understand why some in congress were watery eyed during his speech. When I was young there use to be a slogan “You don’t have to be Jewish to love Levy’s Real Jewish Rye”
Why do you cubbyhole people?
