I had a similar position for only a few years, then took leave to raise our son. I continued to work but only part-time, while he worked probably 50 to 60 hours per week on salaried pay. Heck, now that I'm spelling this out, I'm realizing that I probably actually made more PER HOUR than he did! Although I do believe that income inequality existed years ago, my response to its existence today is "PSHAW". What I do see going on today between mine and my husband's profession and our son's, which is not the same profession but also white collar, is discrimination - specifically against the hiring of white men! Talk about an injustice. I am not in TV yet, and still in the work force and I can not tell you how many women have great jobs while their husbands are playing the stay-at-home parent role. And most times, it has not been by choice but necessity. Our society is definitely changing, I just question whether it is for the good. My gut feeling is that it is not.
Thank you. And I hope that you DO consider moving to TV when able. You would be a welcome neighbor.
