Ooma is a wifi based phone system.
So wifi or a router connection is the surce.
Yes it is transparent; no different than a land line phone. No difference in utilization. Cost is the big advantage. We went from almost $40 per month for land line phone to $3.25 with Ooma....unlimited anywhere in the USA.
