Had they killed them all, at least we'd have been more "civilized" when we eventually found them with vast exploring armadas. What do you think? How much longer could native societies have lasted if Columbus and any later single explorers hadn't returned? 100 years? More? We invaded them, plain and simple.

Being kind destroyed the native americans. We eventually overwhelmed them and took over. They let themselves be overwhelmed until it was too late for them to stop it.

Can't you see the parallel with blacks and Hispanics? We bring them here, we help them, give them BETTER then we give "our own" with affirmative action and government programs.

They will eventually breed us out and change everything. We're letting them take over. Already more "minority" children register for public school than white kids. A 5 year in the making, immigrant baby boom IS happening. It WILL change everything.

It seems all I hear about is black this and black that. The Yahoo front page is FULL of stories about blacks. Our society is slowly changing into "them". Our kindness, like the natives, is slowly killing our culture, our society. Instead of them "invading" violently, we're willingly, even helping them, let it happen.

I want to keep the "white america culture", ways, and looks.

I liked the 50s, MOST women did too. Most women don't want to HAVE to have a career. Many feel they have to because the traditional family is gone. Odds are she won't stay married forever. They need to plan for that.

Mostly, women were treated special. They raised their own kids with the neighborhood women, taught them their values, they didn't pawn off raising their kids on some 3rd world, ESL, immigrant or Lawanda. These minimum wagers are the ones who actually raised their kids. People were convinced via TV that they needed stuff, bigger stuff, better stuff, so women worked.

I liked how towns looked in the 50s. Clean, safe, friendly. Now they're seedy, 3rd world looking, stay aware of your surroundings, dumps. Wildwood didn't always look like it does now. That started in the 60s. Leesburg didn't look as it does now. Diversity is what destroyed these places.

Lets talk honestly about it.

This is a politically correct injustice to the REAL people who founded this nation. If she had taken them all to Canada, maybe I'd agree. This is PC garbage. Feel good crap to appease those who are growing in numbers and becoming restless. The irony is they're biting the hand that feeds them. White people make the world go round. White people make a country successful. White people make a city or town successful. Just look at all the stats, best this, best that...white people. Worst this, last that...black people. None of this around you would be here without white people. The "west" and all it brings is white people. Technology, white people.

Lets talk HONESTLY about it, that's all I ask.
Dear Guest: In all due respect I cannot tell if you are joking or not but I have heard the scenario you lay out spoken by others.

One of the problems here is that people address history based on the social, cultural educational, ideological etc for today but back then its what they did. Another problem is created because of the Rashmon Effect (ie different people view the same events but come away with different versions. Another factor is plain bias. and finally hind sight is 20/20.

In fact your writing supports this argument because you reference the 1950's and all you liked about it. I also share that view but change is inevitable and the most prominent aspect of survival of all species is "their ability to adapt". I do agree that not all change is good but change is the one constant whether we like it or not

Your description concerning native Americans is right in part but as previously stated adapting is key and its not reality to believe that anyone can stop progress. Explorers abound in every nation on earth since the beginning of time, its the human experience, its nature. Florida growth is one small example. How many Floridians, over the years, do you suppose grimiest every time another northern populated their state? But in the long run didn't it better serve Florida and the nation?

Native Americans resisted the inevitable but could have kept their culture and still become a part of a new and exciting nation. Indeed what I found wrong in this story is that the government placed them on reservations instead of providing land etc in the greater community. But its a decision they made and at the time it might have been the best available option?

When it comes to American History too many people today look at the negatives. For instant they see America's history of slavery but its a history of overcoming slavery. University students are taught that our founders, explorers etc were all angry evil white men. However we have English settlers with a history of human right laws beginning with the Magna Carta (circa 1215) the English Bill of Rights (circa 1689), etc that formed a basis of America's common laws, and lay the foundation for the drafting of the three Charters of Freedom.

So I do get a little miffed when someone slams America because while not perfect the rule of law prevails, freedoms abound and in the end justice prevails.

I do agree that progressives over reached on the black issue. But what you should not neglect to notice is that many blacks have come to understand that and as Jason Riley states to progressive please stop with the help your killing me. There are many people like Jason Riley who speak up for course correct on many issues thanks to our First Amendment rights.

In my view America is not perfect but then nature has never built anything that was perfect but this nation comes the closest to perfection that can be found on God's green earth and we must treasure it and find a way to get along with one another.

Personal Best Regards:
