Like your friend I have had tinnitus all my life and thought it was normal. When it became extremely noisy and bothersome I saw a specialist and was diagnosed with Meniere's. Sometimes the two go hand in hand. I have learned to live with most of it and my hearing aid has reduced some of the noise in my left ear when I am wearing it. I thank you for the post because I am always looking for new information and just received a disc from Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit that is also doing some new research.
