With the deinstitutionalization of mental health facilities during the 1970s came the supposed promise of outpatient care on a much larger scale. That promise was never kept, and now so many with mental health issues are homeless and on the streets. As bad is the situation with our vets. The VA has failed to provide care for many with PTSD, so they end up homeless as well. And few facilities - outpatient and inpatient- are capable of caring for those with mental health problems AND drug abuse issues.

And then we have the psychiatrist/psychologists who are are basically just pill pushers thinking drugs are the answer to everything. They works with some things but not so well with others.
