I don't expect much will change, as it is always about the money to be made. Some players have decided the risk is not worth it and have quit early in their careers.
With the concussion and PED problems, I am amazed at how much risk one is willing to take to have the possibility of an extravangent lifestyle, with big money being thrown around.
Sadly, most players don't even make the five year mark when their pensions kick in. It's a brutal sport but I have to admit, I am a big football fan.
Hopefully, they will get better at recognizing concussion symptons better and make rules to stop players from being permanently disabled.

You do get an idea of how beloved the game of football is in America from this movie. The doctor Dr. Bennet Omalu who is the hero of the movie
Will Smith - Rotten Tomatoes had to go through all kinds of trials and tribulations just trying to get the facts out there. A problem I know extremely well from my own experiences fighting for practical materials accessible through or in libraries for survivors/victims of crimes. My 224 613 Project. Google Taltarzac725. I have had a lot more help with my work though than the doctor in this movie did. Keeping the status quo has been a problem of mine in my Project as it was with Dr. Bennet Omalu.
