Sadly, many Pit Bulls have been bred and trained to be mean. Supposedly by drug dealers. Plus they have very strong jaws.
Unfortunately this has given the entire breed a bum rap.

Adopting a Pit Bull >> PAWS
I have come across a few Pit Bull Mix owners at Doggie Doo Run Run who have too much confidence in their ability to control their dog. It still depends a lot on the individual pooch.
Outside of the dog park I do tend to be very cautious around any dog that looks like it is part pit bull but I tend to be careful around all unknown dogs. Especially chihuahuas!!! Small teeth, very big attitude.
