Hi Everyone ;D,

I am still here in New York but I come to the Villages every summer and when I retire, I will be down there for 6 months at a time.

I remember the good old days.. I lived on Laconia Avenue between Astor and Waring and one block from St. Catherine's Academy. I remember shopping on Allerton Avenue and going to Lanzetta's pastry store in the summer for Italian ices. I didn't go to public school, went to St. Lucy's Elementary School and then Mother Butler HS. My brother went to Columbus and graduated in 1964. I also went to dances at Solice and did get "picked up" with my friends to go to Orchard Beach (yep, Section 13 was the best). You are right, the #12 bus was always too crowded.

It is good to relive the old days (these kids today don't know what they missed ). I am a member of the "Bronx Club" and hopefully maybe can meet with some of you this summer to relive the "old days of Da Bronx"....
