While coming down the 466 Multi-Modal Path, I saw a golf cart with a young couple and young children (5 & 7?) parked at the stop sign at 466 (the one coming out of Bridgeport).
Thinking they were waiting to take their cart out on 466, noticing that they were young (visiting parents/grandparents?), that there were two young children in the seat, guessing they were probably lost and also noticing that it didn’t even have a license plate for a street legal car, I chose to veer over to them to keep them from having a disaster.
I said
“excuse me, but golf carts are not allowed on that road and it can be very dangerous.”
The guy looks over and says
“my horse is in the barn over there” (pointing to the barns on the Morse’s property across 466).
I then said…
“as long as you know it’s illegal and very dangerous crossing this road, the choice is yours.”
I then got back on the MMP and went on my way.
Should I even have bothered to stop?
Waiting for what I predict will be some interesting responses.
